In order to speed the deployment of renewable energy we are opening up our business model to allow virtually anyone to participate.The beauty of the platform/application model is that it allows creative people a way to add value to the supply chain without having to recreate a large complex and expensive business. Developers can create applications quickly and easily from their home or workshop. Bitesize commerce makes it easier for more people to participate.
Why the vertical model doesn’t work
The traditional vertical model of sales distribution fails in gasification because:
- The markup from each level puts the retail price above the affordability level of the market. Three groups are trying to be apart of the final sales price.
- Retailers aren’t able to provide tech support due to a lack of product knowledge. Without tech support they aren’t offering enough value to justify their place in the distribution chain.
By turning the sales distribution model on it’s side we are able to divide profits up horizontally. Each stage only has to split revenue between two parties. The supplier and the seller. Getting products to market this way makes it easier for entrepreneurs to participate by becoming developers. Developers are better suited to sell biomass energy products because they are familiar with the technology and able to offer quality technical support to the end user.
User Groups bridge the gap between customers and developers. This allows the customer to collaborate with the developer and get the solution they want, while building a rapport that extends into post sales service.
